The main character in this novel is Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16 year old girl who suffering from thyroid cancer, since age 13bHazel has been diagnosed with stage IV thyroid cancer. Due to cancer, Hazel has to use a portable oxygen cylinder to breath properly.

Hazel had to go to the activities of the Support Group at her Mother's insistence. There Hazel met a man named Augustus Walters who suffered from osteosarcoma  and resulted in the amputation of one leg.
Augustus was there at the request of his friend Isaac. Isaac had a tumor in one of his eyes that needed, whic left him blind.

After the meeting ended, Augustus approached Hazel and said she looked like Natalie Protman in V for Vendetta.
Hazel and Ugustus agree to read each other's favorite books. Augustus lent Hazel a novel called "The Price of Dawn" and Hazel Recommended a novel called "An Imperial Afflication".

A week after that, Augustus managed to track down the whereabouts of Van Houten's assistant, Lidewij.  And from Lidewij, Augustus managed to send an email.
He told Hazel the contents of Van Houten's email and Hazel made a list of questions to send to Van Houten.

Van Houten finally answered, but said he couldn't answer Hazel's question personally in the email.
And if Hazel went to Amsterdam, he invited her to stop by Van Houten's. But he couldn't because his mother didn't have enough money to go to Amsterdam.

Hazel told Augustus about the contents of the email reply. And Augustus makes his wish come true through an organization called the Fairy Foundation, whose work is to make a sick child's wish come true.

In the midst of her struggle over what to do about Augustus, Hazel suddenly gets a serious case where her lungs fill with fluid and she is forced to be taken to the ICU. Since then some of Hazel's doctors had not advised her to go to Amsterdam, after all Hazel wasn't very well enough to make the trip. But on the other hand Dr. Maria allowed Hazel to go to Amsterdam because she thought Hazel needed to have some fun.

Their journey was quite smooth to go to Amsterdam. But when Hazel and Augustus meet Van Houten they learn that, Van Houten is not a prolific prolific writer, but a ruthless drunk who claims he can't answer the questions Hazel asks. Both of them were very disappointed, especially Hazel who had taken Augustus' request. But their journey is quite amazing. After leaving Van Houten's house, Lidewij invited them to visit Anne Frank's house.

Hazel didn't want to, because she wanted to go with Van Houten, but Van Houten wasn't invited, and they went to Anne Frank's house. Too bad there is absolutely no lift there, only stairs. But Hazel insisted on going all the way to the top. And they did it, though Hazel was a little tired.

A month after the trip to Amsterdam, Hazel was woken up by her cell phone with her song The Hectic Glow. That means Augustus called him or someone called from his cell phone. And it turned out that Augustus had called him. He told Hazel to fast-track at Eighty-sixth and Ditch, and asked her to fix her faulty G-hose. Hazel ended up calling 911 to take her to the hospital.

Augustus came home from the hospital a few days later. Augustus told Hazel to hurry to the Literal Heart of Jesus. To attend the pre-funeral and read a speech to Augustus. Augustus Waters died eight days after his pre-meal, when his cancer that was part of him finally stopped his heart.

THEME

Family

The kids at The Fault in Our Stars don't waste it in sterile incubators. No, they have parents who love them and worry about them. religious expressions on them to find solace. Hazel and Augustus were just like any other teenager—irritated by their overprotective parents—but they also understood. As Hazel eloquently puts it, "There's only one thing in this world that's worse than biting her for cancer when you're sixteen, and that's having a child bite her for cancer" (Green,2012)

Love

we get to witness the sweet charm of young love as Hazel and Augustus tease their way to get to know each other. Their attraction is unquestionable, their compatibility is amazing, and in the end, we see that their love for each other is undeniable. But this wasn't just a story about Hazel and Augustus—it was also a story about other people in their lives. And there is a lot of love coming from all directions.

Evaluation/Analisys.

Through the title of his book, John Green conveys the message that despite the imperfections of our destiny, we can thrive and lead a happy and fulfilling life. The story of 'The Fault In Our Stars' is about two teenagers Hazel and Gus, who have cancer and have numbered days left to live.John Green, through Hazel and Augustus, brings both: tears and laughter. The Fault in Our Stars is a beautiful novel and I would recommend it to anyone who believes in love and has the courage to fight for it. Through this book I realised that cancer not just touches victims, but it also touches all those who love.

Conclusion

The novel concludes with Hazel reading Augustus's words. He says getting hurt in this world is inevitable, but we do get to choose who we allow to hurt us, and that he his happy with his choice. He hopes she likes her choice too. The final words of the novel come from Hazel, who says she does.

I may only have a little criticism about this book, people might when they see and read the synopsis of this book they will quickly guess the end of the storyline, even though there is a surprising twist plot in this novel.  and this book was made into a film with the same title in 2014 based on the story from the novel The Fault in Our Stars.  And I myself have seen the film, the scene / scenario that I like is when I visited Anna Frank's house, how to hear Hazel's struggle to climb the stairs in line with Anna Frank's struggle at home was very memorable for me.  maybe if you like reading you can buy the novel and if you prefer to watch the film because it is more clearly visualized.

THANKYOU!!!!
